Join Neighborhood Seminary as we welcome Dr. Lisa Hancock and Rev. Justin Hancock in facilitating, Re-writing Welcome: Engaging Anti-ableism in the Church, 4 Mondays, April 17 and 24, May 1 and 8, 2023.

COURSE DETAILS
Course Dates: 4 Mondays, April 17 and 24, May 1 and 8, 2023
Time: 1:30-2:30 pm EST / 12:30-1:30 pm CST / 11:30 am-12:30pm MST / 10:30-11:30 am PST
Facilitators: Dr. Lisa Hancock and Rev. Justin Hancock
Virtual course via ZOOM. Zoom link provided one week prior to start of class.
This 4-week course will equip participants to:
- Assess role of ableism and assumptions about disability in church and larger society
- Examine ideas of Welcome and expectations between disability community and Church
- Develop skills for creating anti-ableist hospitality
COST & REGISTRATION
$75 per person | Minimum registration fee: $25

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS
Rev. Justin and Dr. Lisa Hancock are co-founders of The Julian Way, an organization focused on empowerment and discipleship with, for, and by persons with disabilities.
Justin is the Lead Instigator of The Julian Way and spends his days engaging with the members of The Julian Way through one-on-one discipleship and advocating with the church and the wider community for the integration and participation of disabled persons.
Lisa is the Director of Worship Arts for Discipleship Ministries, an agency of The United Methodist Church where she writes liturgy and creates resources to help local churches engage in and make disciples through worship.
