About the Event
Join Neighborhood Seminary in the ten-week study Remember and Recommit facilitated by Rev. Dr. Jim Melson,
Tuesdays April 18 through June 20, 2023, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. EST (USA/Canada).
PURPOSE
The purpose of this ten-week course is to further equip church leaders, clergy and laity, to participate in the work of dismantling racism as discipleship. By actively engaging in the course through listening, reading, viewing, reflecting, praying and conversing with others in the small groups, participants can anticipate deepening of relationships with God and neighbors, and discerning with others how we may more fully embody God’s love and grace through our congregations and in our communities.
CLASS DETAILS
> 10 Tuesdays beginning April 18 through June 20, 2023​
> Virtual Class via ZOOM, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. EST (USA/Canada)Â
> Class outline and reading assignments provided after class registration.
> Zoom link provided one week prior to start of class.
Each weekly session is two hours and includes: Â Â Â Â
- Opening Scripture and Prayer Â
- Presentation correlated to focus of each session
- Small group conversations on focus questions in ZOOMÂ
- Large group gathering for closing reflection and prayer

- Time to Teach: A History of the Southern Civil Rights Movement, by Julian Bond (2021)
We encourage purchases from a local bookstore and/or one owned by a Person of Color.

Rev. Dr. Jim Melson, facilitator, is an ordained United Methodist pastor and is Founder and Executive Director of Cornelius Corps, a ministry that focuses on the intersection of racial justice/reconciliation and spiritual formation.
