This experiential and prayerful inquiry into the ancient spiritual and psychological tool known as the Enneagram can lead us to a deeper understanding of self in relationship to the Divine in ways that broaden our capacity for spiritual growth, compassion toward self and others and authentic expressions of ministry in the world.

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course facilitated by Gary Shockley will offer participants two 90-minute online workshops with an individualized coaching session in between to customize our experience with the Enneagram.

The goals of this course, and desired learning outcomes, include:

  • Gaining a knowledge of the ancient Enneagram as a tool for spiritual growth and ongoing development as the unique persons God created us (and others) to be.

  • Understanding some of the common misconceptions and misuses of this tool as it has become widely popular in many circles.

  • Learning the uniqueness of all nine types and finding our own among the nine.

  • Experiencing the Enneagram as a framework for understanding ourselves and how we operate in the world, focusing particularly on the WHY of our behaviors and the root motivations behind most of what we do.

  • Learning strategies to help us get unstuck from the undesirable thoughts and behaviors that keep us from growing, hinder us from being in healthy relationships with others, and limit our ability to extend love, grace and compassion to the world.

  • To develop practical strategies for personal growth and spiritual development.

This short course is intended for pastors, lay leaders and church leaders in parish settings seeking clarity about who they, why they exist and how they are called to live authentically in a season of great chaos.
